Publisher of the Year Award 

Orlando, Florida: Williams and King Publishers (WKP), a boutique publishing company based in Central Florida, along with three of its authors, received several awards during yesterday’s Orlando Renaissance Writers Guild’s Literary Benefit Banquet.

Founder and President, Marcia Williams, an active member of the Orlando Renaissance Writers’ Guild,  as well as the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) and the local Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) was on hand to receive the award.

The Orlando Renaissance Writers Guild (ORWG) was formed in 2002 as a forum for new and veteran authors.  The annual banquet highlights the accomplishments of its guild members and awards an Author of The Year.  This year ORWG Banquet was hosted by Orlando’s Channel 2 News Anchor Jazmin Bailey and marked the banquet’s 11th year anniversary.

It was a proud night for WKP as three of its newly published authors received awards of recognition.  WKP started the year with a record number of new authors and projects and this recognition proves that the company will be an up and coming contender in the publishing industry.

“We are especially proud of receiving this year’s Publisher of The Year Award but we are over the moon excited that our authors received awards as well.  This is a testament that the work we have been doing in the publishing space has been recognized for the excellence in service we provide” said President Williams.

“Williams and King has been growing much faster than we had anticipated.  Our authors entrust their dreams and manuscripts to us and we have taken the job of nurturing and producing a quality end product as our priority. Our company is a young one but the combined years of experience of my partner and I have been the main reasons we’ve gained such distinction.  Our goal is to expand the brand beyond the Florida market.”

Among the WKP's authors receiving this year’s awards included Diane Parker, author of Heels of Power,  Deberann Tinson author of The Reasons I Pray and children’s book author Helen Williamson who penned Buck the Popeyed Crow, Sammy’s Zoo the Place to Be and Miss Shai Shai, the Sunflower Princess.
